Black-tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa)

During the nuptial period they have a reddish-brown head, neck and breast. A striped dark brown crown, white eyebrows and black eye stripes. A brown back, with greyish, ochre, reddish and black shades.

Common snipe (Gallinago gallinago)

The adult has a black crown on the head, with a cream coloured stripe running through it. Cream coloured eyebrows with a dark stripe through the eye. A dark brown and reddish back, with ochre coloured longitudinal stripes which extend from the base of the neck.

Dunlin (Calidris alpina)

The adult has a chestnut coloured back, with lighter coloured patches. A black striped head, with a chestnut crown and a whitish stripe above the eyes. A white breast with dark brown stripes. It has a very distinctive black patch on the belly.

Eurasian Wigeon (Anas penelope)

The male has a chestnut coloured head, with a distinctive yellow patch on the crown. The upperparts are grey and the lower parts are notable for the pinkish breast, grey flanks and black undertail coverts (rump). In flight, white wing coverts.

Great Cormorant (Phalcacrocorax carbo)

Almost entirely black plumage except on the cheeks, which are white. Brown back with bluish shades at the neck. Very visible white patch on the thighs.

Greylag Goose (Anser anser)

The plumage is mainly a light greyish-brown with dark spots on the breast. The upper part of the wing (wing coverts) has a light grey colour which contrasts with the rest of the wing.

Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus)

The adult has a dark back and mantle, the colour varying from slate grey to a greyish black. The rest of the plumage is white. In flight, the wings and mantel display a uniform colouring, the upper and lower edges of the wing displaying a narrow white band.

Meadow Pipit (anthus pratensis)

Olive greenish-brown upperparts and dark stripes, even on the rump and secondary coverts. White or cream coloured underparts, with black stripes on breast and flanks, the patches being a uniform width. White outer tail feathers. Pale brown legs.

In general, a bird with bicoloured plumage, with a black back and white belly. In detail, the head has a black crown which extends to a very distinctive crest, which is also black

Northern Pintail (Anas acuta)

The male is coloured dark chocolate brown on the head, throat and nape of the neck. The breast, belly and a band on both sides of the neck are white. The upperparts and flanks are grey. A black rear with a whitish patch on each side.

Northern Shoveller (Anas clypaeta)

The male has a dark green head, white breast and belly and reddish chestnut flanks. A black rump, with a white band on the hind flanks. In flight, it displays pale blue forewing feathers and a green speculum.

The Black-headed Gull (Laurus ridibundus)

The adult has a light grey back and wing coverts. The head is a dark chocolate brown colour. White underparts. In flight, the upper wings display white primary feathers with black tips.

Western Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus)

The male has a predominantly brown plumage, darker in the upperparts and with reddish hues in the underparts. Head and neck are a creamy colour with dark stripes.
